Are all job portals the same? No, of course not. Each job portal is aimed at a specific audience, and has a series of peculiarities that we should be aware of before investing our recruitment budget when publishing a job offer.
In Spain, the three main portals are tecnoempleo.com, ticjob and Infojobs. Of these, only the first two have a specific audience of technology professionals.
Another factor to take into account is data transparency; do we know what each portal can offer us before contracting? Let’s look one by one at the most important factors to take into account:
Job Portals specialized in technology
Of the three portals analyzed, only tecnoempleo.com and ticjob are focused on a profile of technology professionals. Infojobs is a generalist employment portal that publishes all kinds of offers, which usually produces a certain transfer of professionals from other profiles, who register in offers in which little or nothing fits with the profile sought.
How many registered candidates are there?
The number of candidates registered in each Portal will directly influence the visibility of the offer and the number and quality of the CVs received. Is the Job Portal transparent in terms of the number of registered users? tecnoempleo.com publishes openly, and updated in real time, data of registered candidates. At the time of writing this article tecnoempleo.com had more than 546,000 registered candidates.
Neither ticjob nor Infojobs openly publish their candidate numbers.
Where will our offers be displayed?
We only ask one thing of the job portal we choose; that they send our offer to all the candidates who are looking for a job. If the portal only publishes it on its own pages, our offer will have a much smaller audience. This is the case of Infojobs, which does not disseminate offers on other sites.
On the other hand, tecnoempleo.com publishes the offers not only on its own pages but also on all the search engines that candidates use to look for jobs: Indeed, Jooble, Neuvoo, Google for Jobs…. Even on LinkedIn!
Can I try before I buy?
Is this Job Portal ideal for my job offers? It is difficult to know beforehand, so the best thing to do is to try. But, do I really want to pay 49€ for my first offer without knowing if it is the right place to publish, as Infojobs asks me to do?
In tecnompleo.com the first job offer is free just for registering our Company and includes exactly the same functionalities that we will have if we decide to hire one later, so that we can test the platform.
